Sofia Labropoulou lives and works in Vienna. She creates her own sound by combining Greek and Mediterranean folk music, classical Ottoman, medieval, experimental and modern music. Her album “Sisyphus” presents works inspired by poetry and music from different eras and regions, including “The Myth of Sisyphus” and other essays by Albert Camus, Greek mythology, folk music, Turkish and Arabic music, and even two songs by the Sex Pistols can be found on it. The result is as unique as it is distinctive and, thanks to Sofia Labropoulou’s strong musical personality, seems to be made from a single piece.
Christian Reiner is a speaker of poems and voice in music, theater and media productions. The spectrum of his work ranges from performances of contemporary compositions to concerts, improvised music and interdisciplinary projects. He works with improvising musicians and dancers and developed his own way of acting with the spoken word and the possibilities of the human voice in a musical context. In 2021, Reiner was Artist in Residence at the Saalfelden Jazz Festival, where he presented five projects in the area between language and music. At the 2018 Salzburg Festival, he was a soloist in a concert performance of Beat Furrer’s “Begehren” with the Klangforum Wien, and in 2022 he took on the role of Lucifer in Carl Orff’s opera “De temporum fine comoedia” directed by Romeo Castellucci.
